A bathroom usually needs a wall tile and a floor tile, and they are not always the same product. This page lists sale tiles described as wall tiles, or as suitable for both wall and floor. Outdoor paving and patio slabs are left on the outdoor page, even when they are cheap.

Floors in a bathroom get wet. A tile sold only for walls may not be rated for floors, and a glossy surface can be slippery. The retailer page should say where the tile can be used. If it does not, ask before you fit it. This list cannot see a slip rating that the listing never stated.

Walls are where the area adds up: shower enclosures, bath panels and half-height tiling. Measure each wall, ignore the doorway, and add an allowance for cuts and the odd broken piece. Mosaics and small metros use more grout and more time than a large porcelain tile.

Waterproofing is the fitter's job, not a property of a sale price. Tanking, boards and grout are separate products. Match the wall and floor in one order if the shade has to agree, especially on clearance.

Questions

Can every tile on this page go on a bathroom floor?

No. Wall tiles are included because bathrooms need them. Only use a tile on the floor when the retailer says it is for floors. Dual-use tiles are the ones described as both wall and floor.

Are outdoor tiles included?

No. Listings whose names say outdoor, paving, patio or exterior are on the outdoor deals page instead.
